Creating Product Coupons through the Coupon Engine

Coupons and discounts are the most powerful ways to intensify the sales progress in any online e-commerce platform. It is very essential for all online sellers to introduce promotional offers, discounts, and giveaways to attract potential customers. People love freebies! So, it is essential to create coupons and delight your customers. This helps in marketing the product and attract customers.

Benefits of Creating Coupons

  1. Coupons and discounts help quickly boost up your sales and cross-selling potential.
  2. Special offers bring you a lot of potential customers who finally checkout.
  3. Offering discounts attracts customers to your e-commerce platform, thereby increasing the visibility of your products.

The Coupon Engine allows Resellers to offer coupons to the customers. Through the Coupon Engine, the Resellers can be able to create coupon such as – 10% off on .COM domains, 20% off on Hosting, and so on. It also allows Resellers to create Conditional Coupons that qualify on the purchase some products such as – purchase a .COM domain and get 20% off on .NET domains.

Easy steps to Create Product Coupons through the Coupon Engine

  1. Login to your SuperSite 2 Admin Area.
    • Navigate to Settings -> Branding Settings.
    • Select “SuperSite & PartnerSite” sub-menu under the Branding Setting section on the left side of the window.
    • Then select the “SuperSite 2” option that comes below.
    • Click on the “Launch Customization Panel” button.
    • The SuperSite 2 Admin Area page is displayed.
  2. Click on the “Coupon Engine” tab from the menu on the top.
  3. Click on the “Create New Coupon” button.
  4. You will be landed on the Coupon Creation page
  5. Provide the following details on the Coupon Creation page:
    • Coupon Code: This Coupon code field represents a small code that depicts the name of the coupon. This code can be used by the customers in the cart to avail the discount. For example: if you want to offer 20% on .NET domains, your Coupon Code could be NET20.
    • Coupon Description: This field depicts a brief and informative description for a coupon such as: 20% off on .NET domains. This description will be displayed to the customers when they redeem the coupon.
    • Start Date: This field depicts the date from which the discount / coupon code will start. Click the icon next to this field to set the Start Date. All the coupons will start from 00:00 hrs GMT and end at 24:00 hrs GMT.
    • End Date: This field depicts the date on which the discount / coupon code will end. Click the icon next to this field to set the End Date. The Coupon validity will expire at the stroke of mid-night as per GMT/UTC on the End Date.
    • The discount applies to: In this field, you will need to select the Products for which you wish to offer a discount. Just click on the checkboxes next to the specified products. The coupon will be applicable for all selected products.
    • Once you select the products, you will need to specify the below details:
    • Domain Registration Field: Under this field, specify the domain name extension (Example: .com), action type (New Registration or Transfer), discount amount and the discount in % or Selling Currency value. You can add multiple domain registration fields.
    • For Email Hosting, Web Hosting (Single and Multi-Domain Hosting), Reseller Hosting, VPS Linux Hosting and Dedicated Server: Specify the Hosting Product type, Hosting Plan, discount amount and discount in % or Selling Currency value.
    • For Website Builder: Specify the Website Builder Plan, discount amount and discount in % or Selling Currency value.
      For CodeGuard: Select the CodeGuard Plan, discount amount and discount in % or Selling Currency value.
    • For CodeGuard: Select the CodeGuard Plan, discount amount and discount in % or Selling Currency value.
    • Does the coupon require a purchase of another product?: Choose “Yes” if you wish to offer the discount only on purchase of another product, otherwise choose “No”. For example, you may choose this option to specify that the coupon can be used only on purchase of a .COM domain name. If you have chosen “Yes”, you also need to choose the product that needs to be purchased to avail the coupon.
    • Once you select the products, you need to specify the below details:
    • Domain Registration Field: Choose the domain name extension, action type (New Registration or Transfer) and Order duration.
    • For Email Hosting, Web Hosting (Single and Multi-Domain Hosting), Reseller Hosting, VPS Linux Hosting and Dedicated Server: Choose the Hosting Product type, Hosting Plan and Order duration.
    • For Website Builder: Choose the Website Builder Plan and Order duration.
    • For CodeGuard: Choose the CodeGuard Plan and Order duration.
    • Otherwise, select No.
    • The number of times the coupon can be used in all Field: This figure indicates the total number of times the coupon can be used by all your customers.
    • The number of times each customer can use the coupon Field: This figure indicates the usage limit per customer. If you enter 1 here, each customer will be able to use the coupon only once.
    • The no. of orders to which the coupon can be applied: This figure indicates the number of orders the coupon can be applied to.
    • Once you are done with filling all these details, you can press the “Generate Coupon” button.
    • v) A window will pop up asking you to confirm the coupon details. Review all the details and click on the “Okay, I’ve confirmed everything” button.
  6. Congratulations, your coupon has been created successfully.

Viewing Coupon Reports:

Once you have successfully created the Coupon, you can view/edit the coupon reports by just clicking on the “View Reports” option.

The Report will display the follow information about the Coupon:

  • Coupon Code: This field indicates the name of the coupon.
  • Coupon Redemptions: This field indicates the number of times the Coupon Code has been used and the total number of times the coupon has been used by all the customers.
  • Customer ID: This field indicates the IDs of the customers by whom the coupon has been used.
  • Invoice ID: This field indicates the IDs of the Invoices against which the coupon has been used.
  • Discounted Amount: This field indicates the discounted amount offered against the Invoice IDs mentioned above.
  • Coupon Used on: This field provides the description of the order against which the coupon has been used.

Modifying a Coupon:

  • Login to the SuperSite 2 Admin Area.
  • Click the Coupon Engine tab from the Menu on the top of the page.
  • You will see a list of all coupons created by you. Under the “Options” column, click the “Edit” link for the coupon you wish to modify.
  • Make the required changes and click on the “Update Coupon” button.
  • Confirm the changes by clicking the “Okay, I’ve confirmed everything” button. You may click the << Go back and Make Changes link to return to the previous page for further changes.

Deleting a Coupon:

  • Login to your SuperSite 2 Admin Area.
  • Click the Coupon Engine tab from the Menu on the top of the page.
  • You will see a list of all coupons created by you. Under the “Options” column, click the “Edit” link for the coupon you wish to delete.
  • Click the “Delete Coupon” button at the bottom of the page and then confirm the deletion.
